Teac CD 540E firmware 3.0a CD ROM and Yamaha CDX860 CD Player not tested with this CD Comparison of the graphs The Yamaha CRW3200 EWK errors start earlier, and are quieter for a while save for a loud burst. The little peaks must not be taken into account. Here's a comparison between the first Memorex test, and the second one, that was made for the C2 analysis : The peaks are not at the same place, they appear quite randomly during the extraction. Last, let's see how the waveform looks : Zooming into the left green square : Zooming into the right green square : The peaks in the first part are in fact full scale clicks. I don't know why they appear at -10 db in the picture while the clicks actually reach 0db. I think it is because -10db is the level of the difference between the reference waveform and the click level. But I don't think this is a good way to show levels, because a click produces different frequencies than the reference file, therefore it is heard separately, over the music, at 0db. The second part was so damaged that there was a lot of mutings. It does not provide some useful information. A CD in this state would not be usable. |
